Funny Canadian Horse - strong and well-muscled

The Canadian horse (French: cheval Canadien) is a horse breed from Canada. It is a National symbol of Canada, like the beaver and goose. This horse is strong and well-muscled. The horses are mostly used for riding and driving.

The unique "Canadian" horse is a pretty interesting breed. This unique breed goes back to the 1600's before Canada was even a country. They were sent to Quebec or New France by Louis XIV for new settlers in the area. Impressively, at one time there were as many as 160,000 in Canada.

There are an estimated 2,000 Canadian horses alive today.

It is interesting that the market for Canadian horses was strong throughout the 1800s, and thousands of horses were exported from Canada to the United States.
