Coronavirus: Canada to see 1st vaccine doses in January, provinces to handle distribution

Global News has information about upcoming vaccines. With several COVID-19 vaccines currently seeking approval from Health Canada, Pfizer is expected to likely be the first to see its product approved. It seems that doses to inoculate three million Canadians could arrive in early January or sooner.

Initial shipments of vaccines to arrive in Canada will be rolled out differently. Moderna, if approved, will be shipped to one location in Canada and then sent to communities nationwide. While Pfizer will be sent directly to communities because it requires specially designed temperature-controlled shipment and storage containers with it needing to stay in ultra cold temperatures for up to 10 days unopened. It is expected that 14 sites across Canada will be ready for Pfizer's vaccine.

"Inoculate" means to treat (a person or animal) with a vaccine to produce immunity against a disease. For example, "he inoculated his tenants against smallpox."

Provinces and territories are expected to see the vaccine distributed on a per capita basis, but it will be up to them to administer the vaccine.

Abigail Bimman certainly takes a look at how Canada is preparing for the rollout and the questions that still have yet to be answered.

Pfizer Inc. is really an American multinational pharmaceutical corporation. It is one of the world's largest pharmaceutical companies and ranked 57 on the 2018 Fortune 500 list of the largest United States corporations by total revenue.

Headquartered in New York City, Pfizer develops and produces medicines and vaccines for a wide range of medical disciplines, including immunology, oncology, cardiology, endocrinology, and neurology. Pfizer headquarters are effective. Its products include the blockbuster drug Lipitor (atorvastatin), used to lower LDL blood cholesterol; Lyrica (pregabalin) for neuropathic pain and fibromyalgia; Diflucan (fluconazole), an oral antifungal medication; Zithromax (azithromycin), an antibiotic; Viagra (sildenafil) for erectile dysfunction; Celebrex (also Celebra, celecoxib), an anti-inflammatory drug; and Prevnar 13, a pneumococcal conjugate vaccine.

In 2016, Pfizer Inc. was expected to merge with Allergan to create the Ireland-based "Pfizer plc" in a deal that would have been worth about US$160 billion. The big merger was called off in April 2016, however, because of new rules from the USA Department of the Treasury against tax inversions, a method of avoiding taxes by merging with a foreign company. The large company has made the second-largest pharmaceutical settlement with the United States Department of Justice.

On December 19, 2018, Pfizer announced a joint merger of their consumer healthcare division with UK pharma giant GlaxoSmithKline; the British company will maintain a controlling 68% of shares.

Pfizer was a constituent of the Dow Jones Industrial Average from 2004 to 2020, when it was announced that the company would be replaced by Amgen in the Dow Jones. The important change took effect at start of trading on August 31, 2020.

The pfizer stock price seems to have increased over the year period.

Pfizer shares have gained almost 20% since late October with optimism that its shot will be approved. Options prices imply a more than 9% expected move over the next two weeks. On Friday, Pfizer was certainly little changed, trading near the 17-month high it reached earlier in the week. BioNTech SE, Pfizer’s partner in developing the shots, could move almost twice that much.

Pfizer careers are a lucrative opportunity. At Pfizer, science is at the core of who the company is. Science drives a good deal of hiring decisions. This is also important - a combination of skills, core competencies and intangibles. Pfizer jobs are profitable.

What is Pfizer Viagra? Pfizer VGR 100 (Viagra 100 mg)

Generic Name: sildenafil. Pill with imprint Pfizer VGR 100 is Blue, Four-sided and has been identified as Viagra 100 mg. It is supplied by Pfizer USA Pharmaceuticals Group. Viagra is used in the treatment of erectile dysfunction and belongs to the drug class impotence agents.

Pfizer animal health is interesting. Zoetis Inc. is the world's largest producer of medicine and vaccinations for pets and livestock. The company was a subsidiary of Pfizer, the world's largest drug maker, but with Pfizer's spinoff of its 83% interest in the firm it is now a completely independent company.

Pfizer dividend history is interesting. Pfizer can be a good dividend stock. It also has a 40-year history of consistently paying quarter dividends, with nearly a full decade of consecutive dividend payout increases. Although the stock price seems volatile, these dividends help keep your investment growing. Pfizer is a great long-term investment for those not looking at its daily activity.

In more Pfizer news, Pfizer has cut Coronavirus COVID-19 vaccine delivery by half for 2020 due to supply chain issues. Pfizer has certainly confirmed that it will be distributing half the amount of COVID-19 vaccines that it had originally proposed for 2020 due to supply chain issues.

"Based on current projections we expect to produce globally up to 50 million vaccine doses in 2020 and up to 1.3 billion doses in 2021," Pfizer said in a statement.
